WINTERIZE YOUR HOME

frozen-ice-189996During extremely cold weather it is very important to make seasonal safety checks to insure that your home is weatherproof. Here are some low cost money saving tips that can help. Clean out the gutters, make sure smoke alarms are in working condition, trim tree limbs close to the house if necessary, this will reduce any possibility of trees falling on the house. Other important things to remember to do would be to caulk and weather strip around doors, windows, and all exterior trim; check for cracks around pipes and electrical outlets entering or exiting the walls. Fit exposed outside faucet's with an insulated sleeve.Drain and shut off outdoor water faucets.Hang curtains or drapes to keep the cold air out. Lastly  remember to change the furnace filter and cover the outside Air-conditioning unit with heavy material.
